Small Grants for Educators

When my mother passed away in August 2024, I wanted to do something in her memory to support the kind of work she cared about. I gathered ideas on how to do this and was able to put together a small grants program focused on early childhood development, classroom innovation, play-based learning, and children with special needs. A little later, based on applicants' interests, I added environment education to the list.
 

These grants are mainly for educators and trainers in India who would like to try something new or whose work supports needy communities. Since the program began, I have had the good fortune of interacting with many people doing stellar things. It has been heartwarming to know their work and to be able to help - not only financially, but also by connecting them to other possibilities.
 

Please share this page as you see fit to help these grants reach more educators with a passion for the thoughtful development of all children. I will ensure that the process of selecting grantees is simple, trusting and supportive. 

My heartfelt thanks to all educators. These grants can only support a few of you, but I value all your work. My thanks also to so many of you who have written to say that you remember my mother with fondness and respect. I was fortunate to be the first of so many children whose lives she touched.
